What is yoga?: According to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, compiled around 400 CE, yoga is the practice of quieting the mind. Other translations include: Yoga is the stilling of the mind turnings or Yoga is the turning off of the mind chatter. In the text, Patanjali lays out the 8 limbs of yoga, a pathway toward spiritual liberation. While we will focus on the asana (postures) limb, the other limbs of yoga will be honored in class through the sharing of concepts and themes.

Acknowledgements: We will be on land that belongs to the Puyallup people. We will be practicing yoga, a practice that originated from India.
